Research and postdoctoral positions. Penn State has employment opportunities in its Center for Environmental Kinetics Analysis (CEKA), an NSF/DOE Environmental Molecular Science Institute, to investigate environmental kinetics over multiple scales.

Postdoctoral position: We seek a postdoctoral scholar to investigate biogeochemical kinetics emphasizing experimental or theoretical techniques.  We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in x-ray diffraction, synchrotron spectroscopies and microscopies, biochemistry, or reactive transport.

Kinetics Synthesis Specialist:  We seek a research scientist (PhD) or postdoctoral fellow for a multi-year appointment to work with biogeochemists in synthesizing environmental kinetics data.  Responsibilities include compiling environmental kinetics data from CEKA researchers for dissemination, coordinating synthesis of research results, producing a peer-reviewed database, and interacting with PSU database specialists .

Field research specialist:  We seek a postdoctoral scholar or research associate with expertise in field aspects of biogeochemical weathering kinetics.

All positions require excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment.  Interested applicants should send the following electronically to Ms. Denise Kowalski: (1) statement of interest and experience, (2) CV, (3) contact information for 3 references.  Applications will be accepted until positions are filled.  Penn State is committed to affirmative action, equal opportunity, and the diversity of its workforce.
