Figure 8. Detailed SEM picture of a macro-dispersive type spinel pellet. The macro-sphere contains inclusions of metallic fission products and gas inclusions. Around the particle an 10 um thick halo with fission products is clearly visible, the interface being accentuated by fission gas inclusions.
